Oxford United Scout Target Ahead Of Deadline Day

Oxford United had scouts watching a player they are keen to snap up during last night’s EFL Cup action, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

 

With the end of the summer window drawing closer, Oxford are keen to make sure they have a squad to get them through until January, which provides the next opportunity to recruit.

 

They have been keen to bring in a right-back and have had one particular player on their radar throughout the window.

 

 

The star Oxford are keen on is Blackpool full-back Jordan Gabriel and they had scouts watching him play on Tuesday night.

 

Gabriel clocked 69 minutes in Blackpool’s EFL Cup win away at Blackburn Rovers.

 

 

Blackpool could cash in on Gabriel before the window closes, however they still want to bring in in the region of £500,000 and it is unclear if Oxford will pay that.

 

The Championship side’s interest in the defender persists though.

 

 

And they could yet make a late bid to take him from the Tangerines before the window slams shut.
