Yang Min-hyuk has enjoyed an exciting 2024

It has been a whirlwind last few months for Yang, who made his K-Leage debut for Gangwon aged just 17 earlier this year.

The pacy winger, who turned 18 in April, has dominated the K-League so far, with 13 goal contributions to his name so far in 28 league appearances.

Tottenham secured his services for a fee of around €4m (£3.3m) last month before loaning him back out to his boyhood club, with the player set to arrive at Hotspur Way in January.

South Korea call-up for Yang

Yang has now been called up to the South Korean national side for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Palestine and Oman.

Hong, who was recently announced as Jurgen Klinsmann’s long-term replacement, insisted that the Spurs youngster has done enough to warrant a call-up.

The South Korea boss told Reuters: “I think he has done enough this season to deserve a spot on the national team. His body of work for this season speaks for itself, and I think this was the right time to give him this opportunity.

“A lot of people have high expectations of him, and I hope he can do some good things for us here. And it’s up to him to keep earning these chances.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The experience of playing in a high-pressure environment in the national team alongside some superstars will do a lot of good for Yang’s development and will be useful to the youngster ahead of his upcoming challenge at Tottenham.
