Bissouma was suspended by Spurs

Bissouma’s first goal for Spurs could not have come at a better time, with the midfielder delivering a real statement performance against Everton after being suspended for the clash against Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou refrained from condemning the 27-year-old too harshly in public after he posted a video of himself inhaling laughing gas, with the Australian stating that Bissouma deserves a second chance to earn back his trust (The Standard).

Bissouma responded in perfect fashion against the Toffees on Saturday, with the midfielder making an apologetic gesture towards the Spurs fans after scoring in the 14th minute.

Bissouma ran straight to Ange Postecoglou

The former Brighton man then ran towards Postecoglou, with the pair seen embracing on the touchline. It appears Bissouma is grateful for the second chance handed to him by the Spurs boss.

We know that Ange likes to maintain some distance from the players so that his messages have the intended impact. He certainly does not seem like one for hugs.

However, he has made an exception in this case as it is clear that he shares a special relationship with Bissouma, who previously referred to the Australian as being like a father figure.
