Midweek preview: Bassett aim to finally crack Corsham

Royal Wootton Bassett Town face another crunch early season Hellenic League Premier Division clash on Tuesday night as Sam Collier's side face a derby visit to last season's runners-up Corsham Town. Since joining the Hellenic League, Corsham have had Bassett's number, winning all six league fixtures - including a thumping 7-2 victory at the Southbank last season - as well as prevailing on penalties in the teams' 2022-23 FA Vase third round encounter. Bassett will therefore finally be hoping to get one over the Quarrymen and earn an early season confidence boost. It has been a tumultuous summer for Corsham with a change in management- though they're still set to be a force to be reckoned with this season. And, with Corsham having started to the new campaign in strong form, Bassett will have to be at their best if they are to get anything from their latest encounter.
