Saudi clubs confident of completing bargain move for Liverpool mainstay

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Saudi Arabian clubs are growing in confidence and they are hoping to sign the 31-year-old next summer.

The Egyptian international will be a free agent next summer and he has not signed an extension with the club yet. Salah has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club from Roma and he has helped them win every single trophy at club level. Losing him would be a huge blow for Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether they can replace him adequately.

The Egyptian international scored 25 goals and picked up 14 assists in all competitions last season and Saudi clubs were willing to pay £150 million for him last summer. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince the player to sign a new deal with them.

Saudi clubs want to sign Mohamed Salah on a bargain

Given his contract situation, Saudi Arabian clubs will be hoping to attract him on a free transfer.

The report claims that this could be the Egyptian’s final season with Liverpool and Saudi Arabian clubs are already working to secure his services.

The report further states that Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad are one of the main candidates to sign the player. However, they will face competition from Al-hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli as well. The Egyptian is expected to earn a bumper salary if he moves to the Saudi Pro League.

Saudi Arabian clubs have been in contact with the player and his representatives for two years now and it remains to be seen whether they can execute the move in the coming months.

Salah will be able to secure a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs once the January transfer window is open and it will be interesting to see if he decides to call time on his illustrious Premier League career.
