Report: Crystal Palace could hand Tottenham a nice cash boost this month

According to Record (as relayed by Sport Witness), Sporting Lisbon would be willing to sell Marcus Edwards to Crystal Palace, with Tottenham set to benefit financially from the deal due to the sell-on clause they have on the winger.

Tottenham were linked with re-signing Marcus Edwards

Various outlets have reported over recent months that Spurs want to re-sign Edwards, who departed the club back in 2019 to move to Portugal.

This includes Football.London, who pointed out back in May that Tottenham would be able to sign the winger on a discount since they still have a 35 per cent sell-on clause.

However, since then Spurs have invested in Wilson Odobert from Burnley, while Mikey Moore also looks destined for minutes this season.

Crystal Palace are interested in Edwards

Record now saw that Palace may offer the winger a route back to the Premier League and the Eagles might get their man.

This is because Sporting are willing to cash in on the Englishman for a fee of around €25m-€30m as Ruben Amorim does not view him as an indispensable part of his plans.

The publication adds that Oliver Glasner’s men are not the only ones after Edwards, with Al Nassr and Juventus also on his trail.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are not going to be signing any more wingers this window – that is a near guarantee.

The few million boost the club will get in the event of an Edwards transfer will be handy, with the Lilywhites reportedly still keen on an addition in the middle of the park.
