Report claims Man Utd make big ‘transfer U-turn’ on midfielder after solid display vs Fulham

0 3

Manchester United made a winning start to their new Premier League campaign as they beat Fulham 1-0 on Friday at Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee scored the crucial goal after being featured off the bench in the second-half, but several other players also impressed with their performances for United in the home victory.

Casemiro, who received a lot of criticism last season, provided a solid display against Fulham as he created two brilliant goal-scoring opportunities for Bruno Fernandes.

Now The Sun are reporting manager Erik ten Hag has become so impressed with the Brazilian that he doesn’t want to sell him anymore this summer.

The relationship between the two had broken down towards the end of last season as the 32-year-old massively struggled to perform well for his side.

Casemiro also suffered from injury issues last term and was limited to 25 appearances in the English top-flight.

But he has reportedly been handed a lifeline at Man Utd after impressing in pre-season and the start of the new campaign.

This decision may come as a surprise for many who want the club to offload the Brazil international in the ongoing transfer window.

The midfielder has reached the age of 32 and United cannot rely on him for consistent performances throughout the campaign.

He is also one of the highest earners at the club on £350,000-per-week, according to Capology

The Red Devils need to sign a better and younger alternative to Casemiro whose best days at the top level of football look to be over.

Manuel Ugarte would be an excellent replacement but a deal for the Uruguayan is proving to be difficult due to Paris Saint-Germain’s huge demands.
