Newcastle United Ready To Move On From Marc Guehi Pursuit Soon

Newcastle United are keen to strike a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in the next few days or move on to other options in the market, according to The Athletic.

 

Guehi has been the top centre-back target for Newcastle this summer but negotiations with Crystal Palace have been far more complicated than they previously anticipated.

 

Crystal Palace have rejected as many as four offers from Newcastle who have been pushing to sign the England international.

 

 

The Eagles have taken a tough transfer stance and want Newcastle to make an offer that would see them get a fixed fee of £65m, if not more than £70m, which the Magpies feel is excessive.

 

However, Newcastle are now aware that that they need to make a decision on the pursuit of Guehi soon.

 

 

It has been claimed that they want a deal done in the next few days or they will move on to other targets.

 

The Magpies are under the impression that Palace’s position is not as immovable as they are portraying and a compromise is still possible.

 

 

But they are wary of dragging the negotiations for too long given the window closes on 30th August.

 

Guehi is keen on the move but is unlikely to agitate for a move to try and force the issue.
