Welcome back to the new season to all Latics supporters. Here at the Official Supporters Club, we’ve managed to have a restful break, but we’ve also been working on bringing fans more ways to get involved with your Football Club!

Pre-Season Friendlies

On Saturday 3rd August we ran a coach with 50 fans on board up to Holker Street to watch the boys in their final pre-season friendly at Barrow. Having last played them in the FA Cup in 1995, the ground was new to many supporters who were able to cross it off their list.

Heritage Project

The Heritage Team have been working hard throughout the summer break to bring the history of our club closer to the fans. On Friday 26th July, the team visited Montrose Hall Care Home, to celebrate with former Wigan player Walter Stanley.  Members of the Past Players Association including Graham Hickson, who Walter played with in the 1960s, attended the event and shared wonderful memories with each other. Crusty the Pie made an appearance and the whole thing was showcased later that day on Granada Reports! It was a fantastic day and the Heritage Team will be getting involved with more memory events in the future.

At the July meeting we welcomed the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Heritage and our own MP Lisa Nandy who joined us to find out more about our work to preserve the history of our club.

Jake Campbell was also in attendance as we plan to bring the history of Wigan Athletic to members of the Academy of all ages, to show them what it means to pull on the WAFC shirt.

The big news this season is that the Heritage Museum Room is becoming a reality, just over a year after the project was set up. A dedicated Heritage Room based in the South Stand Bar will be open on home matchdays and will be home to our ever-growing memorabilia displays. The team will be adding to the displays every home game so get yourself down to the South Stand Bar pre-match to have a look around!

Season 2024-25 Flagbearers

We’re delighted to welcome our new OWASC Flagbearers for this season. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to wave the giant flags pre-match at home games! Our first flagbearers for the Charlton game are Josh, Joe and Cameron.

If you’d like to get involved, just contact us info@wiganathleticsupportersclub.co.uk

Fan of the Month

Once again this season we will be celebrating YOU, the fans who travel the length and breadth of the country to watch our team. Every month one supporters will be presented with a framed certificate by a current WAFC player, as the Fan of the Month. It could be someone celebrating something special, a fan who has overcome a challenge or simply a supporter who watches Wigan week in, week out! To nominate your FOTM get in touch, or use the form on our website.

South Stand Bar Fan Zone

This season we are once again providing a family friendly, interactive fan experience for all supporters in the South Stand Bar before home games.

Football Supporters Association – FSA Update

Over the summer break, our FSA representative Adam Pendlebury attended the National Conference at Wembley where the FSA published their Annual Review. The conference included updates on the Football Governance Bill and advice for Football Clubs on setting up Fan Advisory Boards, an initiative which we are very pleased to be part of at Wigan this season.
