Paul O’Keefe says Spurs face a ‘difficult’ decision with one player this summer

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that although Spurs do not want to sell Oliver Skipp, the midfielder is keen on getting regular first-team football.

Oliver Skipp was a bit-part player last season

Skipp was used very sparingly by Ange Postecoglou last season, coming on as a substitute for the overwhelming majority of his appearances.

So, one can understand why the 23-year-old might be frustrated, with reports indicating that he has informed the club of his desire to get regular minutes.

This was reported most recently by The Telegraph, which explained that Spurs are expected to grant the midfielder his wish to leave this summer.

The publication asserted that all three of the Premier League’s newly promoted clubs are keen on Skipp and are keeping a close eye on his situation.

It was asserted that Leicester City eye him as a potential replacement for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall while Kieran McKenna, who has previously coached at Spurs, is the one who is driving Ipswich’s interest in the player.

Spurs face a tough decision on Oliver Skipp

O’Keefe has now explained that while Tottenham do not really want to let Skipp go, given their lack of homegrown numbers, the player has made his desire clear.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s homegrown numbers are not great, which is why I expect the club to persuade Skipp to stay at least until January.

I would be quite surprised if he left before the end of the month.
