Tottenham face Bayern Munich tomorrow in North London

Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media this afternoon ahead of the second match against the Bundesliga giants.

Tottenham are looking to finish their preparations on a high and avenge the 2-1 defeat suffered at the hands of Bayern in Seoul last weekend.

The Bavarians were certainly the brighter of the two sides, especially in the first half with Ange Postecoglou’s side struggling to beat their press.

After tomorrow’s game, the focus switches to the Premier League campaign with Spurs making the trip to newcomers Leicester City for the Monday Night Football fixture on August 19th.

Bayern will have one more friendly following the match before they play their first competitive match of the 2024-25 campaign – against SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal.

Postecoglou provides team news update vs Bayern

Destiny Udogie is yet to play a minute of football during pre-season as part of his recovery from the injury which saw him miss the end of last season, however, there was a welcome boost earlier this week when he returned to first-team training.

Postecoglou has confirmed that Udogie will see some game time against Bayern, while Cristian Romero Giovani Lo Celso, Rodrigo Bentancur and Micky van de Ven are all also in contention having returned to the club following their international exploits.

Richarlison remains unavailable at this stage.

When asked for an update on Richarlison and Udogie, Ange told the club’s official site: “They’re both progressing well.

“Destiny will get some game time tomorrow.

“Richy’s only had a week of training so he probably won’t get game time but he’s had a good week of training so that’s the important thing. Everyone else is healthy and ready to go.”

He added on the returning international quartet: “From our perspective, we made sure they all had a decent break as they all had pretty big tournaments – particularly the South Americans.

“It’s really good to get them back in the building as they add to the quality and intensity of our training, it’s good to have them back.”
