Ex-Man Utd star set to be offered immediate return to football by two European clubs - Report

Two European clubs are reportedly interested in signing former Manchester United star Anthony Martial. 

The 28-year-old left the Red Devils at the end of his contract earlier this summer and is yet to find a new club. 

According to Sky Sports, Serie A club Atalanta are interested in signing Martial this summer.

They are looking to add another striker as Gianluca Scamacca faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury. 

Ligue 1 club Lille are also keen, while Marseille and Besiktas have been credited with an interest.

However, Martial does not want to join either of the latter pair.

Martial signed for Manchester United in 2015 for £36 million when Louis van Gaal was the manager. 

He made 317 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, winning the FA Cup, Europa League, and League Cup. 

However, the Frenchman struggled with injuries throughout his time with the club. 

He was limited to only 11 Premier League starts in 2022-23 and made just 13 league appearances last season. 

United were keen to sell him in the previous summer transfer window but struggled to do so because of his enormous wages.
