‘It could be done very quickly’ – Expert makes confident claim about Spurs deal
Former Aston Villa and Everton CEO Keith Wyness believes that Tottenham will get a massive financial boost in the near future, predicting that a minority sale of the club will be completed sooner rather than later.
There has been a lot said and written recently about a potential takeover at Tottenham but nothing has come to fruition so far.
The Daily Mail was one of several outlets to claim over recent months that multiple US-based investment groups had shown interest in buying a minority stake in the North London club.
The latest to report on the matter was The Times, who claimed last week that Daniel Levy was actively looking for investors in the club, with the Spurs chairman thought to be keen on selling 10 per cent of the club.
The outlet alleged that Levy and co had told potential investors that they valued the club at £3.75bn.
Will Spurs get investment soon?
Wyness believes that Spurs fans may soon get some good news on this front, revealing that a minority sale might be closer than many think.
He told Football Insider: “Spurs have been in the market for investors for a very long time. Their banker Rothchild and their people have been speaking to groups for a long time
“The valuation kept changing, and increasing – but it wouldn’t surprise me if those negotiations have borne fruit for at least one or two groups to move forward and take a minority stake.
“It could be done very quickly. I would think they would want to get it done sooner rather than later, so the investment can impact this window. To see it in the media now suggests it is happening – something is close. I hope it happens for the Spurs fans.”

A minority sale would allow Levy to retain control of the club while also giving Spurs a much-needed cash injection.
However, given the sums of money involved, it would be naive to expect this sort of deal to be completed quickly, with negotiations likely to drag on for many months.
