Man Utd now want to sign two UCL stars for less than £60m - Fabrizio Romano

0 2

Manchester United are confident of securing a double deal from Bayern Munich this summer, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have already recruited Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro in the ongoing transfer window and they are eyeing more additions to the squad.

Bayern recently turned down a double transfer bid from United for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, but the club are positive about signing them.

Speaking in The Here We Go podcast today, Romano revealed that Bayern are eyeing £43 million and £17 million for De Ligt and Mazraoui respectively this summer.

United are reluctant to pay a combined £60m and talks are ongoing to lower the valuation. The club are said to be confident of securing an agreement soon.

Red Devils determined to sign De Ligt and Mazraoui

United suffered an unfortunate setback last weekend with Yoro picking up a metatarsal injury. The young centre-back will be sidelined for three months at least.

The Frenchman wonderkid is touted to return by early November, but manager Erik ten Hag may want the guarantee of another central defensive signing.

De Ligt has verbally agreed terms on a long-term contract and we won’t be surprised if United make a renewed transfer approach for the Dutchman next week.

United’s lack of quality in the backline was exposed in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool. Lisandro Martinez is back in training tomorrow, but the club need more assurance in defence.

Meanwhile, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also been poor in recent friendlies amid speculation that he could be sold. West Ham United are pushing to land his signature.

With this in mind, Ten Hag may want Mazraoui at the club as soon as possible. The Moroccan could be signed in advance before the club part ways with Wan-Bissaka.
