Premier League club enter meaningful talks for 24-year-old Manchester United target - Report

0 7

Manchester United have been in the market for a new centre-back, despite signing Leny Yoro from Lille earlier in the transfer window.

Several names have been linked with the Premier League giants, and one of them is Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi

The 24-year-old was a key part of Gareth Southgate’s England team at the 2024 European Championship. He started all six Euro matches as the Three Lions made it to the final of the competition.

His performances have sparked an interest from several top European clubs but Newcastle United have taken the first step to sign the defender.

According to The Athletic, the Magpies have opened negotiations with the Eagles over a move for the England international.

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Guehi but it looks they are prioritising other targets.

They wanted to secure a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite but it is clear Everton are not willing to part with their prized asset this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side have switched their attention to Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and have agreed personal terms with the Netherlands international.

They are said to be in talks with Bayern but have yet to reach an agreement over a transfer fee.

United recently submitted a joint bid for De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui but that was turned down by the Bundesliga giants.
