Dominic Solanke was on fire last season

Solanke had an outstanding 2023-24 campaign for the Cherries, with the striker thriving in Andoni Iraola’s system and finally living up to the promise many felt he showed as a youngster.

The 26-year-old was unlucky to miss out on a place in the England squad for the Euros and it has now emerged that he could be in line to make a big move this summer.

It was reported by Fabrizio Romano on Thursday that Tottenham are now seriously considering a move for the former Liverpool man as they look to bring a number nine through the door.

Spurs have been watching Solanke for a while

Gold has now also taken to social media to confirm that Spurs have liked Solanke for a long time.

The journalist also opined that the Bournemouth star would tick plenty of boxes for Tottenham and that he would be an excellent fit for Postecoglou’s system.

However, Gold made it clear that the deal would be difficult for Spurs to pull off, with Solanke not expected to come cheap.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Ivan Toney is a better finisher than Solanke, there is no doubt in my mind that the Cherries star is a much better fit for Postecoglou’s system.

In fact, I suspect that if you offered Ange the chance the choice of signing one of the two, he would pick the 26-year-old.
