Leeds United v Valencia CF
Saturday 3rd August 2024@15:00 | Elland Road

Daniel Farke’s Whites will face top flight opposition for the first time this Summer in the form of La Liga outfit Valencia on Saturday afternoon, a week shy of their season opener against Portsmouth.

Following victories against Harrogate Town, Hannover 96 and Schalke 04, Leeds will be hoping to put on a decent performance in-front of their own fans, in what is expected to be a sell-out crowd. We can expect Leeds to field a strong side, perhaps giving an indication of how they will set out their stall this season.

Their main injury concern relates to Patrick Bamford, who is still recovering from surgery towards the back end of last season. It will be interesting to see where Brenden Arronson and Max Wober fit into Daniel Farke's plans. We'll learn a lot by the starting line up on Saturday, and whether the Gaffer decides on a five man defence, with Firpo and Bogle bombing down the wings.

Rubén Baraja's side are still seeking their first win of the Summer, notching up two draws and two losses. They do have Sergi Canos in their squad, best known to Leeds fans for getting sent off needlessly for two yellow cards on the last game of the 22/23 season, as Jesse Marsch pulled off the Great Escape at Brentford. Prior to this, Canos has scored three, and provided as many assists against the Whites over nine games (total).
