S14E5 SWPL 2024/25 Preview

With the calendar flipping over to August, the return of the SWPL is imminent as champions Celtic host Dundee United a week on Saturday live on BBC Scotland, with the rest of the opening day league fixtures taking place a week on Sunday, including Aberdeen hosting Rangers on BBC Alba.

Dave got together with John Bl and Charlie to preview those upcoming fixtures as well as a run through of the twelve teams and how they think they’ll do this coming season. There’s even a collection of five-a-side teams made up of players to watch out for.

Of course, there’s also been international action since the last women’s football podcast, so there’s a reflection on the Euro 2025 qualifying campaign so far, one which also sees Scotland return to Nations League A thanks to topping the table, as well as looking forward to the playoff structure that stands between Scotland and a third tournament qualification.
