Gareth Southgate set to be offered a new job after quitting England

Gareth Southgate left the England job after the losing the Euro 2024 final against Spain.

The Three Lions reached the Euro final yet again and lost once again, just like they did three years ago against Italy.

Southgate worked his magic with the England team but still failed to guide them to a trophy which would have been their first silverware since the 1966 World Cup.

With England now shortlisting candidates to succeed Southgate, the 53-year-old is being lined up for a new job.

According to the Daily Mail, the former Middlesbrough manager is being tipped to become a pundit for BBC for their famous show Match of the Day.

The report has mentioned that the BBC would face competition from ITV to secure his services.

The BBC want to pair Southgate with host Gary Lineker on Match of the Day for the new season.

Lineker heavily criticised Southgate and his team’s performances at the Euros this summer and both could be in line for an awkward time together at the BBC.

England’s former head coach Gareth Southgate is set to be offered a new job.

After Ian Wright quit Match of the Day last season, the BBC are looking for a new, high profile name to become a pundit on the show.

In honour of the 60th anniversary of its “Match of the Day” program, the BBC are reportedly hoping to sign Southgate.

Gareth Southgate can shine as a football pundit

It would be fascinating to see the former England manager share his insight on the game and talk about his experience from his time as the manager of the Three Lions.

Southgate, despite doing an impressive job and becoming the most successful Three Lions manager since the World Cup winning boss Sir Alf Ramsey, has been criticised by the fans and the media for his conservative approach and his failure to get the most out of the talented England squad.
