Report: Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund want to poach exciting Spurs player
Tottenham have a fantastic crop of young players coming through their ranks right now, and some are even finding a place in Ange Postecoglou’s first team. But one of their best and brightest is wanted by both Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs confident they can keep top talent
Despite being just 16 years old, Mikey Moore is already making a huge impression at Spurs. The youngster worked his way into Postecoglou‘s first-team setup at the end of last season and even made his Premier League debut, becoming the club’s youngest-ever player.
Now, he’s on a run of impressive form in pre-season, with assists in the Lilywhites’ first two friendlies and popping up with the winning goal in the recent win over the J-League XI.
But, with great performances comes great attention, and according to a report from Mirror Sport (28/07/24, page 70), Moore is now wanted by Tottenham’s London rivals, Chelsea, and also German giants, Borussia Dortmund.
Both clubs have been monitoring Moore’s situation, as he is not yet old enough to sign a professional contract with Spurs.
However, Tottenham are “increasingly confident” they can keep Moore and get him to commit his long-term future when the time comes.
And, it is thought Postecoglou will be using Moore more frequently in the upcoming campaign.
Mikey Moore is rising to the top
Moore has played a starring role in Tottenham’s pre-season schedule so far this summer, and looks like he is going from strength to strength.
According to Football Insider, Spurs are already close to getting that new deal in place for Moore, after Manchester United started showing interest in the teenager.
Meanwhile, Postecoglou has described Moore as ‘fantastic’ and states the youngster has a ‘super exciting’ future ahead of him (Football.London).
