Makes It Difficult – Liverpool Star On Possible Summer Exit

Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg believes Arne Slot’s Reds are pricing him too highly, as he thinks about a move away from Anfield.

 

The centre-back spent last term away from Liverpool on loan at Mainz in the Bundesliga.

 

He made a big impression, but it was just the latest in a line of loan exits from Liverpool and Van den Berg wants some stability in his career.

 

 

Mainz have been keen to have him back, while other Bundesliga clubs are also interested and PSV Eindhoven want to take him to the Eredivisie.

 

Liverpool though want £20m for Van den Berg and the defender admits he finds that to be on the high side.

 

 

“Liverpool may think it is right as I had a good season, if they want £20m to £25m that is a lot more”, he was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

 

“Hopefully we can find a way.

 

 

“Maybe I stay, maybe I go. The first reaction from me is that it was quite high!

 

“It is also a compliment. But it makes it difficult, £20m is majorly high.”

 

Van den Berg is currently getting chances to impress Slot during Liverpool’s pre-season preparations, but a number of players have yet to join up with the squad and the Dutchman faces a season of limited games if he stays at Anfield.
