Riccardo Calafiori has been snapped on a private jet on his way to London as he closes in on joining Arsenal.

 

The Gunners have been working on signing the Italy centre-back for several weeks and have an agreement with Serie A side Bologna in place.

 

There remained work to do between Bologna and Calafiori’s former club FC Basel however.

With FC Basel entitled to 50 per cent of the transfer fee from the deal, Bologna needed to finalise the payment terms with the Swiss club.

 

An agreement has been reached and Calafiori is free to put the finishing touches to his move to Arsenal.

 

 

The defender’s agency posted a photograph of Calafiori now on a private jet and on the way to London.

 

Arsenal will bid to finalise the capture of the centre-back soon.

 

 

Calafiori was a key man in helping Bologna to finish in the Champions League spots in Serie A last term and he also played for Italy at Euro 2024.
