The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 25th July) - Leeds make easy work of Hannover 96

Good Morning. It's Thursday 25th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Really scary how Hannover were humiliated by Leeds - Bild

Leeds were on top form yesterday afternoon, making easy work of Hannover 96, as part of their top secret tour of Germany!

Goals from Gruev, Piroe and brace from Joseph demonstrated that Farke and Co are much better prepared for what lies ahead of them, compared to this time last year. Although Hannover apply their trade in the second tier of German football, their sixth place finish last season proves they're no pushovers.

Hannover coach Stefan Leitl admitted that Leeds had '12, 13, 14, 15 outstanding players' (they kept moving around making it difficult to count) admitting they were no match for the Whites yesterday. It's easy to get carried away, but the squad is shaping up nicely, ahead of the season opener against Portsmouth in little over a fortnight. There's a long way to go, but we're on the right tracks!

According to German publication BILD:
“It was really scary how 96 were humiliated by the English for large parts of the game in the 1:4 defeat. The first 96 shot on goal came after 34 minutes from Tresoldi (over). By then the score was already 0:2.”

All yellow away kit creating waves

The new away kit continues to make waves on Social media platform Twitter, following its release on Tuesday.

An all yellow kit, with blue trim, and a return of the iconic 'smiley' crest after fifty long years has been enough to make even the most uncompromising among us, go weak at the knees. It's simplicity and brave decision not to butcher the colour scheme shows us the 49ers are starting to 'get us'.

Adidas were not keen on a yellow shirt. Sales over the years show traditionally, they just don't sell well! They tried to convince the Whites to either alter the colours, or at least make the yellow more neon, but dug their heels in, and are now set to reap the rewards with record sales forecast!

Could Wober solve full-back problem

Max Wober could help solve Leeds frailties at full back after a strong performance against Hannover yesterday.

Currently, Junior Firpo, Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram are Leeds only options at wing-back, but all three are prone to picking up knocks. Farke has looked at a number of defensively minded wide players who like to get forward, but (apart from Bogle) is yet to find the right fit.

Austrian International Wober spent last season on loan with Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he mad 26 starts, and was their second best player in their entire squad according to 'Whoscored'. At Championship level, the 26yo should be a real asset, whether playing centre-half or left-wing back.
