Man United star will not join PSG this summer despite exit rumours - report

0 0

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are not working on a Bruno Fernandes deal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Reports emerged earlier today that the French Ligue 1 giants were pursuing a deal for the Man United captain.

However, the Italian transfer specialist debunked those rumours, announcing that PSG are prioritising a move for Benfica’s Joao Neves.

Neves was also a target for Man United, but the club decided to move on to other players, landing on Uruguayan destroyer Manuel Ugarte.

Man United and PSG remain locked in negotiations over a deal for Ugarte.

Fernandes remains crucial for the Red Devils heading into the new season. The Portuguese playmaker has consistently delivered the goods since arriving in 2020 and looks set to continue his exploits.

He bagged ten goals and created 21 big chances in 35 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last term.

He also played a crucial role in United’s FA Cup success, scoring three goals and three assists in six appearances.

Fernandes has notched 79 goals and 66 assists in 233 appearances for the three-time Champions League winners.

The 29-year-old’s current deal expires in 2026, and tying him down for the long term should be a priority for manager Erik ten Hag, especially if the player remains committed to the project.

However, it’s important to note that this news doesn’t completely clear the air around Fernandes’ future. Much will depend on United’s performance in the upcoming season.

A Fernandes exit cannot be entirely ruled out if the club struggles again.
