Arne Slot Is A Good Match For Liverpool – Erik ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has insisted that Arne Slot is a good match for Liverpool because of the style of football the club prefer to play.

 

Slot left Feyenoord to succeed Jurgen Klopp as the manager of Liverpool at the end of last season.

 

The Dutchman won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord but his team dropped off last season and finished seven points behind eventual champions PSV Eindhoven.

 

 

Ten Hag is pleased to see his compatriot at the helm of Manchester United’s fiercest rivals in Liverpool and wishes him all the luck.

 

He credited Slot for picking up Feyenoord from the doldrums and turning them into a force again in Dutch football.

 

 

The Manchester United manager feels that the kind of football Liverpool prefer to play should perfectly match their new manager.

 

Asked if he has been in contact with Slot, Ten Hag told ESPN Netherlands: ”No, we have not been in contact yet, that will come.

 

 

“But I think we wish each other everything.

 

“It is great what Arne has achieved at Feyenoord, how he has helped that club get back on its feet.

 

“And the football that Liverpool prefers to play, that also suits Arne Slot completely. I think it is a very good match.”

 

Manchester United and Liverpool will clash early in the season on 1st September at Old Trafford.
