Spurs newcomers answer funny question about surviving training with Cuti Romero

During their latest Reddit Q&A, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall were asked whether they are more scared about debuting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or facing teammate Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero in training.

Cuti is coming

Cristian Romero has successfully defended his Copa America title and will return to Spurs on a significant high after his mandatory holiday.

As most non-international players have only just returned to training, there will be a brief respite before Romero returns and starts flying into tackles, blood and thunder again.

Last year, Sergio Reguilon posted on his social media just how welcoming Romero can be in training, sharing a snap of his bloody leg with the caption “Cuti is back”. That little insight shows us just how committed Romero is in training. (Express)

Gray and Bergvall give a diplomatic answer

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall were asked on Reddit what the scariest upcoming moment would be: debuting at the stadium or facing Cuti in training.

After having made their Tottenham debuts in the 5-1 friendly win over Hearts, Gray and Bergvall took a diplomatic stance to the question and simply claimed they were looking forward to both. Best to keep Romero on side, after all.

Archie replied on behalf of Bergvall: “That’s a tough question to answer I think both are more exciting than scary, both me and Lucas are looking forward to make our debut and meet Cuti!”. (Reddit)

Romero’s hardness will only toughen up Gray and Bergvall, as they won’t have experienced anything as intense in their careers in training before attack and defence drills when they have to dribble past ‘Cuti’.

I look forward to a blossoming friendship in which Romero will try to kick them, and Tottenham’s new young stars eventually learn how to shuffle their feet and beat him with the ball. Good luck, lads, wear your shinpads.
