Man Utd favourites to sign 'tireless' £38m star after Leny Yoro, club have 'promised' to Red Devils - report

0 0

Manchester United have made only one signing during the current transfer window, but they are likely to speed up the recruitment process in the near future.

Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro is currently undergoing a medical with the Red Devils and the centre-back’s transfer could be made official in the next few hours.

A new defensive midfielder is also a priority for United and Corriere dello Sport (page 6) today claim that the club are in pole position to land Manuel Ugarte.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently negotiating a part-exchange deal with Napoli for striker Victor Osimhen and they are prepared to offer Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele.

The Naples outfit prefer to sign Lee Kang-in and Ugarte instead, but PSG are reluctant to include them.

The French giants don’t want to lose Kang-in while Ugarte has been ‘promised’ to United. It is suggested that the Red Devils are prepared to pay cash for the Uruguayan.

Ugarte’s move to Man Utd won’t be straightforward

The Red Devils are currently on the cusp of landing Yoro. They have agreed a significant package of £52 million including add-ons to sign the highly-rated defender.

In our view, another marquee signing could depend on player sales. Ugarte has given the green light to join United, but he won’t come on the cheap with a price tag of £38m.

A loan deal has been highlighted as an option, but PSG would ideally want to recoup funds, considering they are planning to spend big on Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves.

With no genuine bids for Casemiro, a move for Ugarte could depend on another midfielder leaving. Scott McTominay could be the one with fresh transfer interest from Fulham.

Ugarte, who has been described as a ‘tireless‘ player by PSG’s official website, should be an upgrade on the current holding midfield options. He would be an ideal partner for Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo has already shown that he is most comfortable from the number eight role. Ugarte could do the defensive work with his strong tackling skills, duel winning ability and recovery pace.
