Spurs have a strong squad to use

According to a report from Football.London, Spurs fans can expect Ange Postecoglou to make use of a “strong squad” for the upcoming friendly.

After a convincing 7-2 win for Tottenham against League One side Cambridge United on Saturday, it is thought the “bulk of those players involved” in that game will again play a part in the clash with Hearts, barring any knocks that may have been picked up.

It is believed both Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall will feature again after donning the Spurs shirt for the first time against Cambridge. Fellow youngster, Mikey Moore, could also get more minutes under his belt.

First-team regulars like Pedro Porro, Brennan Johnson, Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Timo Werner, Oliver Skipp, and Yves Bissouma all played on Saturday and should feature prominently again this time.

Meanwhile, Alejo Veliz, Dane Scarlett, Ashley Phillips, Alfie Devine, Pape Matar Sarr, and Ben Davies are expected to play a part once more, and Manor Solomon could step up his return from injury.

There were a lot of young players involved against Cambridge, including Jamie Donley, Tyrese Hall, and George Abbott, and they could all be included in the squad once more.

Uncertain futures at Tottenham

Interestingly, Emerson Royal and Bryan Gil both played in the last game, despite speculation suggesting their Spurs careers are over. It remains to be seen whether they will continue to play.

Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon are even less likely to get minutes. Neither of the full-backs were included in the squad against Cambridge, despite training with the first-team.

Destiny Udogie definitely won’t be playing on Wednesday as he continues his rehabilitation following surgery back in May.

Richarlison was spotted on the bench on Saturday but is not thought to have stepped onto the pitch. That could change for the visit to Scotland.

Players who have been on international duty — Radu Dragusin, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso, and Rodrigo Bentancur — have further time off to recover.

Spurs Web Opinion

It will be good to actually see this game and see what different combinations Postecoglou puts to use for the match. It should be a sterner test than Cambridge, too, so hopefully we get a positive result and performance.
