Midfielder Expresses Desire To Stay At Southampton

Charly Alcaraz has expressed a desire to stay at Southampton following his return from a loan spell at Juventus in the latter half of last season, according to The Athletic.

 

The midfielder joined Juventus on loan in the winter transfer window and the Serie A giants reserved a €49.5m option to buy him in the summer.

 

However, it was clear from the beginning that Juventus had no intention of taking up the option on Alcaraz at the end of the loan spell.

 

 

He returned for pre-season training with Southampton this week amidst speculation over his future at the club.

 

It has been claimed that Alcaraz has expressed a desire to spend next season at Southampton.

 

 

Saints are back in the Premier League and the midfielder is keen to be part of Russell Martin’s squad next season.

 

With several weeks left in the transfer window, Alcaraz could attract offers from clubs who are interested in signing him.

 

 

It is unclear whether Martin is planning for the upcoming season with the midfielder as part of his squad.
