The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 5th July) Slot has already held talks with Summerville

0 2

Good Morning. It's Friday 5th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Slot has already held talks with Summerville

Dutch ESPN reporter Wiebe de Vries claims that Liverpool Manager Arne Slot has already had a private conversation with Crysencio Summerville regarding a Summer move to Anfield. The EFL Championship player of the season has not created as much hype as expected since the transfer window opened last month. He was briefly linked with Brighton, who then opted to sign Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle for £30m, after a successful loan with Feyenoord.

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to have mentioned Crysencio Summerville in talks with his agent, (as Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida who is on his way to PSG, shares the same agent as Summerville), but they deny any current dialogue is going on. Similarly, Chelsea have also shown interest, but have yet to show their hand. If Summerville is to leave Elland Road this Summer, Leeds will want to conclude the deal quickly, to give them time to find a suitable replacement, and bed them in before the start of next season.

Leeds reject Betis advances

Leeds have turned down an offer, thought to be in the region of £3.8m for the services of Diego Llorente, from Real Betis. Manuel Pellegrini is keen to bolster his defence ahead of the new season, and see's the Spaniard as a key squad player, who can fill in for injuries, and come off the bench, to see out games.

He was expected to join Roma this Summer, having spent the last 18 months with them on loan, with a gentleman's agreement in place to make the move permanent for just £3.8m. Unfortunately for Llorente, the Giallorossi have gone quieter than a Conservative celebration bash, prompting the Whites to consider offers from elsewhere.

Betis have already stolen away Marc Roca for another season, and believed they'd be able to secure Llorente for the same cut-down price that was agreed with Roma, but Leeds don't want to play ball. Unofficial sources from Elland Road suggest Leeds will hold out for the best price for the 30yo.

Meslier keen on a move to Vélodrome

Leeds shot stopper Illan Meslier is keen on a move to Marseilles this Summer according to local media publication 'La Provence'. The Ligue 1 outfit, based around the picturesque French Riviera, are looking to replace first choice keeper Pau Lopez, who is expected to complete a move to Serie A new boys Como in the coming days, and have a short list of two as a replacement.

Unfortunately for Meslier, he is second choice behind RC Lens No 1 Brice Samba, who is away on International duty with France at the Euro's, but is yet to feature. The 30 year old made 33 appearances for Lens, recording a respectable 6.80 Whoscored rating, ranking his third in their entire squad.
