Club Officials Now In London For West Ham Talks Over Bid To Sign Hammers Star

Flamengo officials have arrived in London to hold face-to-face talks with West Ham United for the signature of Lucas Paqueta this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

 

The Brazilian midfielder was expected to join Manchester City for a big fee this summer following their aborted approach last year.

 

However, that is now dead in the water because of the gambling charges Paqueta is facing, which could see him get a lengthy ban from the FA.

 

 

Flamengo are interested in signing him but are aware that West Ham are only prepared to listen to permanent offers for him.

 

It has been claimed that a delegation of the Flamengo board have touched down in London to push their pursuit of Paqueta.

 

 

They are set to hold face-to-face talks with West Ham in order to find a way to sign Paqueta this summer.

 

Flamengo would try and sign him on loan but a permanent deal is more likely due to West Ham’s insistence.

 

 

The Hammers want to recover some of the fee they paid for him before he faces a potential ban from the FA.

 

The player’s camp are aware of the interest from Flamengo and are waiting for the two clubs to work out a deal.
