League Cup 2024/25: Round One Draw
The draw for the first round of the League Cup was drawn yesterday, Exeter City will be away to League Two side Walsall. That game is likely to be played on Tuesday 13 August and will be available to Sky Sports subscribers (including Now TV).
Exeter City’s record against Walsall in the League Cup is not great. The two teams met first in the competition in 1966 when City lost 2-1 at home. The one win came in 1993 when City won 2-1 on aggregate with two goals from Ronnie Jepson. City went on to lose 5-1 on aggregate to League One (now the Championship) side Derby County in the two-legged second round. City’s record against Walsall in the League Cup is P6, W1, D1, L4, F3, A7.
