Charlotte FC gets a big win over the Philadelphia Union

Charlotte FC picked up three points on the road with a 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Union.

Charlotte’s attack generated many chances with 18 total shots and seven shots on goal. Both of Charlotte’s goals were scored by Patrick Agyemang in the second half in the 56th and 63rd minutes, putting him at a team leading five goals on the season. Agyemang was named Man of the Match after scoring a brace.

Charlotte’s defense kept the clean sheet while facing 17 shots and eight shots on goal. The clean sheet marked Charlotte’s league leading ninth clean sheet of the season. The back line also got involved in the attack with Jere Uronen assisting one of Agyemang’s two goals.

With the win, Charlotte now sits in fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference and is 6-1-3 in their last 10 matches.

Charlotte FC will remain on the road with their next match against Houston Dynamo FC. Kickoff against Houston is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 29 and will be available to stream on MLS Season Pass.
