Report: Arsenal enter race for centre-back said to be on Tottenham’s radar

According to Sport, Arsenal have now become the latest club to enter the race for Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

It has been well documented that Spurs are looking to bolster their options in central defence and it was GFFN who first reported last month that the Lilywhites were considering a move for Todibo.

It was explained that Tottenham were ready to reignite their interest in the Nice star after considering a move for him during the January window.

The report named Manchester United as Spurs’ main competitors for the defender, with the Red Devils also alleged to be intent on securing the Frenchman.

Sport have now claimed that Arsenal have also expressed interest in bringing Todibo to the Premier League this summer.

Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on adding another top centre-back to his squad and the 24-year-old is thought to be one of the names at the top of the Gunners’ wishlist.

It is revealed that Nice value Todibo at €50m (£42.3m) and that Barcelona would be owed 20 per cent of any fee received for the defender as they have a sell-on clause.

Todibo has signalled that he is willing to make a big move this summer and the Premier League will be his likely destination.

However, I cannot see Spurs spending £40m on a centre-back, which is why the Frenchman is likely to end up at either Man Utd or Arsenal.
