Report names 11 Tottenham players who could leave the club this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are clearing the deck this summer, it seems. With players already being released, and sales being lined up, The Times has cited 11 Spurs players set for the exit.

Ange Postecoglou clearly has a very good idea of what players he does and doesn’t want at Tottenham.

In just a year, we’ve seen a strong footballing philosophy implemented at the club, leading to a much-improved fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

However, the work is far from over. The Lilywhites are believed to be looking to recruit in a number of positions this summer, which means the exit could be looming for a fair few members of the current squad.

The latest from The Times focuses on the imminent departure of Emerson Royal, who appears to be bound for AC Milan this summer.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are thought to have “renewed their interest” in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, and Djed Spence are also “expected to leave” Spurs in the coming transfer window.

Interestingly, the report claims both Richarlison and Yves Bissouma “could also be sold to raise funds if significant offers come in” for the pair this summer.

The club has already shifted three players who were on the fringes of Postecoglou’s squad, with Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, and Tanguy Ndombele all being released by Spurs this month.

In addition, it sounds like Alejo Veliz “is likely to go out on loan again” rather than staying with the first-team squad.

I honestly find the idea of us selling all these players just as exciting as the players we might sign, the squad needs a refresh.

We’ve held on to some of this driftwood for too long, and clearing out means we have space for upgrades. You have got to love a rebuild.
