ASTON VILLA striker Jhon Duran is still a Chelsea target — despite Mauricio Pochettino leaving.

The Colombian striker’s agent says the Blues hold a long-term interest and hopes Villa are “ready” to negotiate.

Duran, 20, has ‘liked’ a number of Chelsea-related posts on X since the Blues tried to sign him on loan in January.

Villa boss Unai Emery said last week that he wants Duran to stay but the club could be tempted to sell in order to balance the books.

Duran’s agent Jonathan Herrera revealed: “The interest has always been there.

“The situation with Pochettino shouldn’t affect anything, the one who wants him is the club.

“We will see what happens, but there has always been interest.

“Let’s see how we can handle it and make sure Aston Villa are ready.

“Now the market is opening up, the club is looking at some options and so are we.”

Duran started just three Prem games last season and became frustrated at the amount of time he spent on the bench.

Pochettino’s Chelsea record

MAURICIO POCHETTINO had just started to turn Chelsea around.

An impressive run of end-of-season form saw the Blues leapfrog the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle to finish sixth in the Premier League – and earn a Europa League spot.

But it wasn’t enough to keep him in a job as it was announced on Tuesday evening that the Argentine had left.

Here are all Pochettino’s Stamford Bridge stats:

Premier League – 6th

FA Cup – Semi-finals (lost to Man City)

Carabao Cup – Runners-up (Lost to Liverpool)

Total record:

Games 51
Wins 26
Draws 11
Defeats 14

Goals for 103
Goals against 74

He came on as a substitute to net two late goals in a 3-3 draw with Liverpool — Villa’s last home game of the season.

Afterwards, skipper John McGinn described his teammate as “a bit nuts” and a “nightmare to have on your team”.

He also said there were times when the youngster, who scored eight goals last season, needed to “have a bit more respect”.

Speaking to Caracol Radio in Colombia, Herrera added: “He is a player who has a contract with Aston Villa, he ended up doing very well and the coach is counting on him.

“It is a club that, having got into the Champions League is a great opportunity.

“But we know he wants to play, he wants to go out and play, we are going to see.”
