Toni Kroos Retires From Football, EURO 2024 To Be German And Real Madrid Legend’s Last Tourney
Madrid: Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has announced his retirement from football with the upcoming Euro 2024 to be his last. The announcement comes just ahead of the UEFA Champions League final at the Wembley next month, where Real Madrid play Borussia Dortmund. The 34-year-old German international’s final La Liga game will be against Real Betis on May 25 with his final game for the club coming on June 2 in the UCL summit clash.
Throughout his career, Kroos has won all the titles possible at the club level. While playing for Bayern Munich, he won the German League and German Cup three times each and the UEFA Champions League once. He was also the part of the German side that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Kross joined Real Madrid in 2014 and helped the La Liga giants achieve success.
At Madrid, he has won four La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles, and one Spanish Cup, among the major trophies. Earlier, Kroos announced his international retirement in 2020, but decided to return to his national side for EURO 2024, which will be his last.

In his Instagram post, Kroos said, “Real Madrid is and will be my last club. I am happy and proud that, in my mind, I found the right timing for my decision and that I could choose it on my own. My ambition was always to finish my career at the peak of my performance level.”

Kroos has been with Madrid since 2014, helping it win 22 titles, including four European Cups and four Spanish leagues. He made 463 appearances with the club.
