Fabrizio Romano provides update on Postecoglou’s relationship with Spurs board

Fabrizo Romano has provided an insight into the current relationship between Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs head coach has experienced a turbulent week at the club which came in all aspects of the Manchester City match, before, during and after.

Postecoglou described it as “probably the worst experience I’ve had as a football manager in a game” because he was worried people would question his integrity if Spurs lost the match as a result.

Defeat for Tottenham dealt a massive blow to Arsenal’s title hopes with the Gunners now two points behind City heading into this afternoon’s final Premier League fixtures of the campaign.

Romano has played down any suggestion that Postecoglou could be considering walking away from the club.

Ange Postecoglou’s relationship with Tottenham is good

He told CaughtOffside: “The relationship between Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham is very good despite what he’s been saying in recent press conferences.

“He just wants some changes in the squad this summer and it will happen, but he’s not in a difficult relationship with the club… he just wants to build a winning mentality.

“Nothing negative at all.”

Postecoglou wasted little time in insisting that he was happy with his job as Tottenham manager during Friday’s pre-Sheffield United press conference.

Tottenham bring the curtain down on their Premier League campaign later this afternoon when they make the trip to Bramall Lane with the aim of securing fifth place and Europa League football.

Ange Postecoglou will want to make significant changes to his first-team squad this summer having already laid the foundations with the arrivals of the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Brennan Johnson.

Hopefully, the club owners see the sense that they must back Postecoglou heavily in the market if we are to look to break into the top four and have a genuine chance of challenging for silverware.
