Confirmed Line-ups: Manchester United vs Arsenal - Fernandes & Rashford missing

0 6

Manchester United welcome Arsenal in today’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

Ahead of the game, United manager Erik ten Hag has made three changes from the 4-0 humbling at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Sofyan Amrabat has got a surprise start in the centre of the park ahead of Christian Eriksen. The Moroccan has had a poor loan spell but has the chance to prove his credentials.

In the final third, Scott McTominay will feature in the number 10 role ahead of Mason Mount, who is injured. Bruno Fernandes is not even in the squad despite training after his injury.

The same is the case with Marcus Rashford. There is still a change on the right wing. Amad Diallo has been rewarded with his maiden Premier League start ahead of Antony.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have named an unchanged starting XI for the fourth game running.

United fans were probably expecting Fernandes and Rashford to make the starting XI and we are definitely surprised that neither is involved in the matchday squad.

This is obviously a blow for the Red Devils who need a victory to keep up with Chelsea and Newcastle United in the race for the European places in the final season stretch.

Despite this, the club should be optimistic over a positive result. Arsenal have struggled in their league trips to Old Trafford and they have won just once in the last 16 seasons.
