Football accumulator tips for this weekend (30/31 Mar 2024)

0 10

THE last international break of the season has been and gone, meaning this weekend, the focus turns back to the Premier League.

And boy, are we back with a bang. At the top of the table, there’s an Easter Sunday showdown between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad. This will be the last time any of the top three clash this season.

And with Liverpool taking on Brighton, their recent bogey team, earlier in the day, it promises to be a pivotal matchday in the race for the Premier League title.

Elsewhere, the race for the top four continues. Spurs host Luton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, and Aston Villa welcome Wolves to Villa Park later in the day, already knowing the Spurs result.

In the relegation scrap, we have a new arrival in the bottom three. Nottingham Forest became the latest team hit with a points deduction for FFP breaches. The four-point loss sees Nuno’s boys drop into the relegation places.

This added further salt to the wound for the Reds, as the deduction came just two days after Forest was within minutes of winning a proverbial six-pointer against the Hatters at Kenilworth Road. Leading 1-0 from the 34th minute, Forest conceded an 89th-minute equaliser to Luton’s Luke Berry, costing them a further two points.

This weekend we’ve picked out a Saturday treble that returns £80.67 from a £10 bet. Add our two Sunday selections, and the five-fold pays a whopping £500.50.

The bet can be placed with any of our top football sites for Premier League betting.

???? Chelsea vs Burnley: Chelsea Over 2.5 Goals (1/1)

Chelsea’s last match ended in a 4-2 win for the Blues over Leicester City in the 6th Round of the FA Cup.

To say it was an interesting afternoon at Stamford Bridge would be an understatement. The mood in the stands was angry. A large section of the faithful seem to have run out of patience with owner Todd Boehly and manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Judging by the reaction to Raheem Sterling’s free-kick that ended up closer to the corner of the stand than the goal, plenty seem to have also lost patience with the England wideman.

It can’t go wrong this Saturday, can it? Surely not.

Burnley have conceded 63 times in 29 matches. Chelsea have scored 12 at the Bridge in their last four in all competitions.

???? Aston Villa vs Wolves: Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score (5/6)

Aston Villa are without a win in two Premier League matches. They lost their last home match to Spurs 4-0 and were held to a 1-1 draw against West Ham in their most recent outing.

The Villains are struggling to keep clean sheets. As are their opponents on Saturday, Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Wanderers have leaked seven in their last three games, including three against Championship FA Cup semi-finalists, Coventry City.

We were tempted to go with a win for Villa and BTTS at 2/1. But Wolves have been far from pushovers against the big teams this season. So instead, we are playing safe with over 2.5 goals and both teams to score.

⚽ Back over 2.5 goals and both teams to score at 5/6 with bet365 ⚽

???? Brentford vs Man Utd: Man Utd to win (6/5)

Here we go again. Can we trust Man Utd to back up a couple of wins and put together a run that could potentially get them into the top four or five?

They beat Everton 2-0 in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Pretty routine stuff. They followed that up with a sensational (some might say lucky) 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Brentford lost their last match 2-1 away to Burnley. Just the Clarets’ fourth win of the season.

They are now six without a win in the Premier League. We suspect the best the Bees will get is a draw. But we’ll take a chance on Erik ten Hag’s team getting the three points.

Add the following two bets from Sunday’s fixtures to make it a five-fold acca.

???? Liverpool vs Brighton: Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals (10/11)

In all competitions, Liverpool are now four games without a win over Brighton.

In the Premier League last season, the teams played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Anfield, with Brighton winning 3-0 at the Amex. There was a further 2-1 win for the Seagulls, this time in the FA Cup, again at the Amex.

Moving on to this season, there was another draw at the Amex. This time, 2-2, back in October.

We think it’s safe to say that Klopp’s team owe the Seagulls a good thrashing. Since the turn of the year at Anfield, Liverpool has put four past Newcastle, Chelsea and Luton, and three past Burnley.

Only City have prevented them scoring three at home in the Premier League.

⚽ Back Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals at 10/11 with bet365 ⚽

???? Man City vs Arsenal: City -1 to win on the handicap (9/4)

We’re going for it with this bet. Both teams have injury doubts, but even with doubts about the fitness of Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, Manuel Akanji and John Stones, we still think City will have too much for Arsenal at the Etihad.

The Gunners themselves are sweating on the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes, meaning both sides could be missing important players.

But we’ve seen this all before. A team gets close to City. They come to the Etihad, and Pep’s team usually puts them back in their box.

⚽ Back Man City (-1) to win on the handicap at 9/4 with bet365  ⚽
