Report: Tottenham are ‘first in the line’ to sign Serie A defender
Tottenham Hotspur and Bologna have certainly had no issues in conducting transfer business over the past few months.
Out-of-favour defender Djed Spence headed to the Serie A outfit in early January in order to get regular first-team football after a disappointing first half of the season at Leeds United.
Spence’s loan came as part of transfer negotiations which saw Spurs take Radu Dragusin off Bologna’s hands in a deal worth £26.7 million (Sky Sports).
Tottenham are interested in Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori
Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this week that Tottenham are interested in another Bologna player Riccardo Calafiori and are ‘first in the line’ to sign him.
TuttoJuve now claim the central defender is also wanted by Italian giants Juventus, however, it is said that Tottenham have ‘greater liquidity’ compared to the Old Lady which makes them frontrunners for his signature.
The Italian Under-21 international has made 31 appearances for Bologna in all competitions this season, providing two assists (transfermarkt).

Tottenham do need further depth at centre-half should both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven suffer injury or suspension.
Dragusin showed during his full Premier League debut in the 3-0 defeat to Fulham that he has plenty of work to do to get up to speed with the demands of the English game.
