Tottenham Hotspur take on Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow in the Premier League, and Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the press today about the chances of both Heung-min Son and Yves Bissouma starting the match.
However, the pair both saw their sides crash out of their respective tournaments this week, with Mali falling at the quarter-final stages last Saturday, and South Korea losing to Jordan in the semi-final on Tuesday.
Many Spurs fans have been excited about the prospect of getting the two players back as soon as possible. With the potentially hazardous visit of Brighton coming up this weekend, a full-strength squad would be quite the bonus as Spurs look to exact revenge for their 4-2 defeat to the Seagulls in December.
Now, it seems Postecoglou will have the luxury of picking almost any player from his roster this weekend, as he has good news regarding Son and Bissouma.
Sonny and Bissouma could start tomorrow
Talking to the press (via The Standard) on the matter of Son and Bissouma’s condition, Postecoglou was optimistic that the pair are both ready and able to start from the beginning against Brighton tomorrow.
He said: “Sonny got back on Wednesday, did recovery on Thursday and trained with the team today. Bissouma trained, he obviously joined up as well this week. They are definitely [ready to start]. They trained well.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I think Son has to start the game, no doubt about it. As for Bissouma, the only debate is whether he would be picked over Bentancur or Sarr, but I personally believe the former needs a rest, so I’d go for a Bissouma-Sarr pivot in the middle of the park.
