Chelsea fans slammed after throwing flare on pitch DURING penalty shoot-out leading to delay in FA Cup final
CHELSEA fans have been slammed for throwing flares onto the pitch DURING the FA Cup final penalty shoot-out.
Nothing separated Chelsea and Liverpool after 120 minutes of football with the score remaining at 0-0.
Like this season’s Carabao Cup final, the title was decided with a penalty shoot-out.
But the huge occasion was tainted by the actions of some Chelsea fans.
In the middle of the shoot-out, some supporters began to throw flares onto the pitch.
Blues midfielder Hakim Ziyech even had to wait to take his kick while staff removed them.

Viewers took to Twitter to slam the group of fans, with one saying: “Why would Chelsea fans throw flares on their own player’s penalty?”
Another added: “Chelsea fans silent through the shootout, throw a flare on to force their own player to wait, and then have to watch the Liverpool flares go off as they lose.”
Another joked: “Liverpool fans showing Chelsea fans that it’s best to wait until you’ve won to light the flares!”
Jurgen Klopp’s side went on to win the shoot-out 6-5 with Sadio Mane being the only Red that failed to score.
