Washington State QB served some amazing disrespect by planting a flag in Washington’s field after Apple Cup win

0 8

Washington State absolutely crushed Washington on Friday, winning the Apple Cup rivalry game on the road in Seattle with a dominant 40-13 performance.

And after snapping a seven-game losing streak to their in-state rivals, the Cougars celebrated their largest margin of victory in the series in a big way, even if they were at Husky Stadium instead of in Pullman. The Cougars fans in attendance — and it looked like there were a lot of them — rushed the field, and at one point, they helped the team’s mascot crowd surf on the field.

But one of the best celebratory moments came from Washington State quarterback Jayden de Laura, who completed 27-of-32 passes for 245 yards against the Huskies. Carrying an Ol’ Crimson flag, de Laura was surrounded by fans as he waved it around, and he offered up a spectacular helping of disrespect by planting the flag in the field.

Gotta love some good post-game flag planting — although Washington fans probably feel a little differently. It’s disrespect but in a great, classic college football kind of way, and de Laura ignited the already overjoyed group of fans that swarmed him.

Here’s a look at other ways the Cougars celebrated their Apple Cup victory.
