Report: Conte has asked Spurs chiefs to offload star midfielder in January
According to Football Insider, Antonio Conte has told Tottenham chiefs to offload Tanguy Ndombele when the transfer market reopens in January.
Although Ndombele has shown glimpses of real quality in his two and a half years at Spurs, the midfielder has not been able to live up to the expectations he came with following a big-money move from Lyon in 2019.
The 24-year-old is yet to start a single game since Conte arrived at Spurs and has had only 23 minutes of action as a substitute under the Italian.
The Tottenham boss said last week that the midfielder had to work harder than most players due to the talent he possesses.
However, if Football Insider’s latest report is to be believed, Conte has privately told the club to move Ndombele on.
The report explains that the 52-year-old wants Spurs to cash in on the French international and use the funds to make new signings.
It is asserted that Conte does not believe Ndombele is capable of changing his ways and wants to bring in players who can follow his specific instructions.

If this report is true, then Conte seems to have made his mind up on the midfielder incredible quickly. If the Spurs boss has decided to move him on, that suggests that perhaps he was not happy with the midfielder’s effort and commitment on the training pitch.
