MLS: LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers
Date: Saturday, July 27 Time: 10:30 PM ET TV Channel: FS1 Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)It hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for the Portland Timbers so far, but they are coming on strong as of late thanks to one brilliant signing. Brian Fernandez has been a revelation for Gio Savarese’s side. The former Necaxa forward has notched eight goals in just seven starts so far, catapulting himself into the team lead in goals. Since Fernandez’s arrival, the Timbers have turned their season around, going unbeaten in their last five matches. Despite the turnaround, they still find themselves two points below the playoff line.
When talking about superstars in MLS, the conversation has to begin with the LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The world-renowned striker has not disappointed one bit since arriving in the United States a season and a half ago. The outlandish Swede has banged in 16 goals so far this season, good enough for second-best in the league. Zlatan’s hat trick against crosstown rival and MLS leader LAFC solidified the Galaxy’s place in second and have them in a great position heading into the All-Star break.
