Brad Friedel, the goalkeeper who helped lead the U.S. men’s national team to the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup, and two players from the historic 1999 Women’s World Cup champions — Tiffeny Milbrett and Cindy Parlow Cone — were among the five elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Also elected were MLS Commissioner Don Garber and former U.S. Soccer President Bob Contiguglia.

Friedel, the New England Revolution head coach, was the starter in 2002 on a team with Landon Donovan and Brian McBride scoring goals. The U.S. achieved its best World Cup result since making the semis in 1930.

Parlow Cone scored 75 goals for the U.S.
