I don't remember either, I think it might have been something to do with him being the most distinctly average footballer ever?

Now that rings a bell. I think part of the reason I forgot (beyond the fact I massively exaggerated my rage for comic effect) was that when he became a pundit, he was genuinely really good at it and came across as a really likeable fella.
