Game wont read proper edit file in save folder, no matter what i do.

Every time i put the updated edit file in the save folder, the game doesent detect it. It always prompts me to create an edit file, and when I say yes, it literally replaces the updated edit file with its bs edit file full of wrong lineups, messed up set piece takers, etc. I cannot find a single solution for this. Clearly the game detects my documents folder without issue, it just doesent properly detect the edit file itself.
