Dimon Kendrick-Holmes I didn’t ever believe it was going to happen, and I still don’t.My alma mater Vanderbilt, the team that breaks my heart game after game and season after season, just beat No. 1 Alabama 40-35.If I had been sitting among the 25,000 or so mostly crimson-clad fans at sold-out First Bank Stadium in Nashville, I would have been telling them to calm down.(The stadium is going to seat 41,000 after construction is completed on the new renovation project, and hopefully it won’t always contain a majority of fans from the visiting team during SEC games.)As a former Tennessee resident and season ticket holder, I’ve spent games assuring the opposing fans that their team is not about to lose to the SEC’s perennial cellar dweller.
